Shannon has been a lawyer for the University of Pittsburgh since January of 2014. Prior to coming to the University, Shannon was a Senior Associate at Littler Mendelson, P.C. from 2004 to 2013. Her practice there included representing employers in discrimination, harassment, and wrongful discharge; defending intentional torts and wage and hour litigation before state and federal courts and administrative agencies; prosecuting unfair competition lawsuits against former employees and agents securing injunctive and monetary relief; participating in depositions, mediations, and both jury and bench trials; conducting training seminars for human resource professionals; counseling clients on hiring, discipline, discharge, harassment, disability and religious accommodation, and FMLA and FLSA compliance; and managing all West Virginia administrative charge work for a large national retailer.
